About Us
Experience |
Since 1987, GFP and predecessor entities have invested
in over 600,000 hectares (1.5 million acres) of high-quality timberland
located in North America, South America and Oceania. In North America,
investments have been structured in the principal timber-producing
regions in the United States: the Southeast, the Pacific Northwest,
and the Northeast. Outside North America, investments have been
structured in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, New Zealand,
and Uruguay. Investments are actively managed by GFP equity owners
or professionals located in Brazil, Chile, New Zealand and the United
States. Locations of GFP offices and investments are illustrated
in the interactive map.
GFP is unique among timber investment managers as a result of its extensive experience
with institutional timber investments in most investment-grade plantation forestry
regions worldwide. GFP raised the first closed-end, commingled
timberfund focused on ex-US plantation forestry investments in 1992.
This first fund was followed by nine additional ex-US timberfunds, three
US timberfunds, and three separate accounts. The deep knowledge gained
from over 20 years of global timber investing has proven invaluable in
this rapidly globalizing asset class.
